Possibilities International was founded by Sam Welten in September 2005.  Sam had been involved as a pastor for twenty years at two different churches.  It was while he was the Senior Pastor of Freedom Church in Kitchener that he and his wife Vee decided to begin PI and resign as Senior Pastor.  PI is incorporated and received its charitable status in Canada in February 2007.

Since September 2005 Sam has been spending his time, energy and passion inspiring others to make a difference in the lives of the helpless, hurting and hopeless.  As far as Sam is concerned it is all about taking care of orphans, widows, single moms and those who may need a ray of hope brought into their lives.

Sam has led teams to places like Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Guatemala and has also visited countries like Haiti, West Indies, Tajikistan and even Afghanistan.  PI has helped churches, individuals and families get to these countries and make a difference in lives.

PI raises support for 17 workers in Central Asia and in March of 2008 hired Scott Couper as the "Director of Operations" .  Scott will give oversight to a brand new project that Sam believes could change the way people give to help the needy in different parts of the world.  Simple Dreams will take flight on June 1, 2008.

PI is also thrilled to have Richard and Ruth Kneider from Stratford join with us.  They give leadership to Simple Dreams-Russia.  The Kneiders have been taking orphans to McDonalds during the month of January since 2003 and in 2007 took about 1600 for a great Christmas meal.  We look foward to their continued impact in Russia and even beyond.
